^My exact thoughts when I was told I was being hired.
But, yeah, after nearly five years of unemployment, I actually got a job! I couldn't believe it. I'm still in training at the moment, but I'm going to be working as a Backroom Associate at Sears. It's only part-time. And the holidays are right around the corner, too, so in a month, things are going to get real busy real quick. I have great timing.
I've had serious emotional whiplash this week, though, because earlier this week, my hamster, Connor, died. In the past few weeks he had started to look pretty feeble; I think he even had arthritis. On Sunday night, he started to get really bad. However, it was late and I didn't have much money, so I wasn't able to take him to a vet. He passed away sometime in the late night/early morning.
Connor was about two years old. He was bound to start aging eventually. I'm going to miss that derpy little marshmallow. Gwen (formerly Azula; I changed her name not long after I got her) isn't that much younger than Connor was, I think. I keep checking on her, but she seems to be doing all right; hasn't showed much signs of getting old. Still eats plenty, still has the same sleep schedule, still acts fussy when I try to get her out of her cage. She's gotten a bit pudgy, though.
Lately, I've actually been working on some art again. There's one drawing I really want to finish as soon as I can. In the last few months, I started watching Markiplier and I really love his videos. Lately, he's been going through a hard time after a friend of his committed suicide, and I wanted to draw something for him. It's nearly done, so I might have it up soon.
Also, I realized that I never posted anymore pictures of my Winter Soldier cosplay after fixing it up a bit. I have some pictures that I took, I just forgot to post them. The costume actually needs to be fixed a bit more because the metallic sleeve is tearing at the seams, and, at this past Comic-Con, I lost the pouch that had one of my plastic knives in it. Apparently, the strap that hooked onto the belt that it was hanging on came apart and the pouch fell off when I was going through a crowd. Funny thing is, my camera was also on the strap, but I noticed that when it fell because I hit it with my foot when I was walking. I went back to look for the pouch, but I didn't find it. Both the pouch and the knife were inexpensive, so I can just get replacements later.
Well, it's getting late. I'll post those cosplay pictures and the drawing later.
